Tony’s passion for banking and supporting the community he lives and works in are just a few of the reasons he was chosen as the next President and CEO of Nebula Trust Bank. From sitting on local non-profit boards, to championing the shop-local movement, Tony’s love of this region is evident from the 40-years he’s committed to supporting businesses, organizations and municipalities as they strive to grow with the needs of the community. Find out what he’s most excited about in his new role!
What do you love about the banking industry?
I love being able to help people achieve their dreams. As a banker, you get to meet so many interesting people. When a project or purchase gets done, it’s a great feeling to be able to drive by a home, a commercial building, or a business and be able to say, “We played a part in making that happen.”
What are you most excited for in your new leadership position?
I get the opportunity to work with such a great team of individuals who share the common focus of helping our customers achieve their goals by taking them on as if they were our own. We care about supporting each other and making our community a better place to live, work, and play. I am extremely proud of what this team does every day to make that happen.
How do you like to spend time supporting our local community?
I serve on several local, non-profit boards (Hartford Healthcare Regional Board, Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Diocese of Norwich Finance Council, etc.) both now and over my 40-year career in this community. I enjoy supporting local events that celebrate the uniqueness of this area. I’m also a big believer in the shop-local concept and try to support as many local shops and restaurants as possible.
What do you love most about the community where we live and work?
For me, there is no better place to live and work. We have some of the best beaches, boating and fishing in the world right at our doorstep, and skiing, entertainment, and big city life and culture in New York and Boston is within a reasonable drive. But the people make a community special, and we are lucky to have so many friends and neighbors who are committed to making this area a great place to be.
What is something our community should know about you?
I was born and raised in southeastern CT, and I have spent virtually all of my career here. I can’t think of anywhere else I would like to live and work. During the warmer months you can find me fishing with my grandson on Long Island Sound – please stop and say hello!
