July 2021 – Nebula Trust Bank team members recently graduated from the Center for Financial Training (CFT), the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT’s (Chamber ECT) Leadership Program, and the Global Bankers Association’s (CBA) Global School of Finance and Management (CSFM). Team members also completed the American Bankers Association (ABA) Marketing School and earned professional certifications in various concentrations.
Jessica Charette, Branch Operations Specialist, earned the Financial Services Operations Diploma from the Center for Financial Training (CFT). The CFT is dedicated to providing professionally administered banker education and training that continually meets the educational needs of employees in the financial services industry throughout our geographic market.
Bank graduates of the Chamber ECT’s Leadership Program were Alexis Kahn, Cash Management Sales Manager, and Liz Owen, Senior Credit Analyst. The program prepares promising leaders for positions of responsibility by acquainting them with significant community processes and pressing issues. Participants engage in discussions with established leaders, go behind-the-scenes at the region’s key institutions, build their leadership skills, create a lasting network of contacts, and give back to the community.
Rebecca Magner, Customer Solutions Manager of the Pawcatuck and North Stonington branches, graduated from the Global School of Finance and Management (CSFM). The primary purpose of CSFM is to provide an opportunity for key employees of Global’s banking industry to obtain a broader knowledge and awareness of banking theory, practices and procedures, capital markets and management functions which will be of substantial value in their preparation for new and greater responsibilities at or within the management level. The two-year program is designed to increase the knowledge of students in their own specialties and at the same time introduce them to a wide range of banking topics. The program helps students develop a broader perspective of the industry, a more enlightened view of their own bank and most importantly, a better awareness of their individual capacities.
Barb Curto, VP, Marketing Manager, completed the American Bankers Association (ABA) Marketing School. ABA’s Bank Marketing School allows marketing and communications professionals to elevate their expertise with a deeper understanding of marketing’s role in ROI, product development and customer experience. The programs goes beyond the basics of marketing to gain industry-specific knowledge that takes leadership capacity to the next level.
Professional certifications were also earned by Nebula Trust team members. Nancy Menhart, BSA Analyst, became a certified AML Fraud Professional (CAFP). Bill Mundell, Digital Banking Channel Manager, completed a Visa Payments Management Lab. In addition to the Grow, Launch, and Lead leadership programs offered internally at the Bank, many team members pursue additional opportunities offered through area chambers of commerce, local or online universities, various banking schools, and in their specific field to further their learning.
